The Brotherhood of the Direct Descendants of Santa and Santa Claus Business Associates are proud to announce another Atlanta edition of The Santa Claus Academy to be held on Saturday, February 14, 2009 at Jillians in Duluth, Georgia. The Academy hours are 8:30am to 5:00pm. Registration will open at 7:30am; please plan to arrive early and to avoid congestion, please preregister online at www.thesantaclausacademy.com
For the Novice Santa (Santa’s in their first or second year), we will offer the Dasher course. The Dasher course is designed to cover all of the basics that every Santa needs to know. The knowledge that you will gain in this course will serve you on your 1st as well as your 501st appearance. To qualify for the Comet course which is designed for the experienced Santa, you must first have completed the Dasher, Dancer, Prancer & Vixen courses . This course is designed to delve into the more advanced topics such as the “Ethics of being Santa” as well as some of the more advanced issues of operating a successful business, planning your season and advertising. The Mitzi Workshop is designed to delight and inform Mrs. Claus and all of the significant women in Santa’s hectic and busy life. Here you will interact with other women who portray Mrs. Claus, Elves, or who work tirelessly behind the scenes as a supporting spouse to the Jolly Gent himself. You will share in a joyful experience as the ladies share their successes and the problems they have encountered along the way. The ladies love to share their stories, their craft ideas, learn and sing Christmas songs and a whole host of other fun things that you can share with the children on Santa visits. The first half of the day, the ladies will be with their Santa in whichever course he is enrolled, the Mitzi Workshop begins immediately after lunch, from 1:00 to 5:00 pm. Tuition for this one day course is $70.00 for Santa and $35.00 for the ladies. This includes a premium lunch as well as snacks and beverages throughout the day. We will all get together on Friday evening, February 13 at Fuddruckers in Duluth GA, to share a meal, tall tales and good friendship. We will also host a graduation dinner at Olive Garden on Saturday evening. Please plan to attend both of these informal get-togethers to enhance the enjoyment of the Santa Claus community. And be sure to plan to stay for The Red Suit Roundtable to be held at The Piedmont Room of The Park Tavern at scenic Piedmont Park in Midtown Atlanta on Sunday, February 15, 2009. The third annual Red Suit Roundtable is the feature event of The Brotherhood of the Direct Descendants of Santa.
